Inauguration of the new “Tapis magique” (magic carpet) attraction: “L’extraordinaire voyage” (The Extraordinary Journey)<\/h2>\n

Futuroscope is a lively park that we really like, as you can see in the video in this Revo-Rama shot this summer, with the magical night time show: \u201cLa Forge aux \u00c9toiles\u201d.<\/a><\/p>\n

Lively, because for several years now, each new year has seen additional attractions and shows. In December 2016, Futuroscope inaugurated a major feature, the \u201cL’Extraordinaire Voyage\u201d attraction. It\u2019s the first \u201cFlying Theater\u201d in Europe (there will be more over the coming months), inspired by the Soarin’ attraction in the American Disney parks.<\/p>\n

Impressive work was undertaken in order to reuse the building housing “Le Tapis Magique”. It was emptied completely to accommodate the new facilities.<\/p>\n

Phileas Fogg and Passepartout were present for the inauguration of “L’Extraordinaire Voyage” inspired by Jules Verne<\/p><\/div>\n

A successful pre-show from Skyworld to Skyloop for “L’extraordinaire Voyage”<\/h2>\n

Once inside the building, you have access to several areas: the first queue has photo opportunities and a coloring corner, the entrance to the Skyworld agency, the Captain\u2019s welcome message, the space shuttle, before reaching the Skyloop ship.<\/p>\n

All of this has a Jules Verne theme, with a couple of nods to other attractions from the Park. It is pretty good especially this new futuristic vision of Futuroscope. The only downside: no feeling of movement within the space shuttle. That was a shame.<\/p>\n

An ambitious attraction, perfect for the Futuroscope, but with room for improvement<\/h2>\n

It’s time to discover the ride itself: all aboard the Skyloop. The installation is impressive. You\u2019re on a platform that moves and pivots slightly, with your feet dangling in thin air. You watch a movie in 6K on a huge screen with 5 projectors. Further effects immerse your deeper into the adventure: smells, smoke,…<\/p>\n

Getting set up takes a long time, but security comes first, and the teams will probably get quicker over time. The film is in computer generated imagery, good but a bit short, well synchronized with the various effects, but there is no story line and no vibrations. The music, by Franck Marchal, is a big success.<\/p>\n

While waiting for Soarin’ and the other European Flying Theaters<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s difficult to give a definitive opinion, we only did the attraction once and would need to do it again. We also need to compare it with Soarin\u2019 which we intend to do very soon.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s an excellent addition to Futuroscope, the Park of images. A facility that can be reused if they change the film or need to improve in the future. <\/strong><\/p>\n
