Disneyland Paris 25th Anniversary: The perfect opportunity to (re) visit the Disney park in Marne-la-Vallée
When you’ve been following Disneyland Paris as a family for nearly 10 years, after a first visit in 1993, you know that the anniversaries are the best time to stock up on new merchandise. This is also when the park sees its best results, no luxury for this destination which has been through a few difficult years, and just when the Walt Disney Company is preparing to buy out the operating company. The 25th anniversary marks the end of a vast renovation plan with its arrays of hoarding which were sometimes difficult to put up with. Will this be the start of a new era for Disneyland Paris? Notwithstanding our article from “April 1st”, we really hope it will be.

April 12th? The exceptional and unique grand celebration for the Disneyland Paris 25th anniversary.
The crowds were there. But, today more than ever before, the park pulled out all the stops. During the grand celebration and the parade, we saw numerous characters that are generally rarely or not seen at all. Where they hired from other Disney parks, or pulled out of the bottom drawer… probably a bit of both. Either way it was a real treat for Disney fans! We even saw Vanellope, Phineas and Ferb, and Oswald (to mention just a few, a real pleasure). The only ones missing were Lotso, Ralph, Quasimodo, and Perry!
We hope to see more again another time.

And throughout the year of the 25th anniversary, a new parade “Disney stars on Parade” and an updated music and light show “Disney Illuminations”
And to finish up, the parade has been completely revamped, after a bit of a face-lift 5 years ago. For sure, the 15th anniversary Once Upon a Dream parade will remain a reference in what Disneyland Paris does best, but it was time to move on. And they’ve definitely moved on with this very different and very festive parade. The floats are impressive, some of them coming from Tokyo or Orlando, such as the superb dragon which marches proudly in Main Street USA. We could watch it again and again! The “Lost in Magic” music is also surprising, you really need to be in the park to appreciate it.
There are other shows or special moments such as Mickey presents Happy Anniversary Disneyland Paris, The starlit Princess Waltz, and Mickey’s Good night kiss. The other big change is Disney Illuminations replacing Disney Dreams. Using the same techniques, and inspired by the show in the Shanghai park, it incorporates recent films, which means that it too has abandoned the story that made the charm of the previous show. We’re not complaining that it’s been updated and the music and lights are great, but it’s a pity all the same.

Merchandising specific to the 25th anniversary and the start of a “Pin Trading” collection for Léopoldine and Aliénor before their trip to Walt Disney World
To prepare our upcoming, and first, visit to Orlando, we were looking for a 25th anniversary cap so that we could proudly show our Disneyland Paris colors, so we took some time to check out the products dedicated to the 25th anniversary.
We also decided, because it’s never too late, to start a Disney Parks pin collection. The Phantom Manor lanyard and the “Around the world with Mickey” pin were perfect for us.
We present all this to you in video in this episode of the Revo-Rama!
The 25th anniversary, a good time to rediscover Star Tours
Disneyland Paris has got a new version of Star Tours.
It’s great, while maintaining the basics, this new Star Wars adventure got our approval, as we await HyperSpace Mountain, which unfortunately wasn’t ready yet for this new season.
A little Star Wars land is growing right before our eyes, and Disney Parks has shown impressive images for the Star Wars Lands in California and Orlando.

Our latest test of a partner hotel with the Vienna Hotel Dream Castle
We’ve tried them all over the Disney seasons: B&B, Appart’Hôtel Adagio, Explorers, Magic Circus, we finished up with the Dream Castle.
Themed on the idea of an historic castle, you can decide whether or not it deserves its 4 stars.

To sum up, Disneyland Paris’s efforts seem to have paid off for this 25th anniversary. They are counting on this celebration to make a lasting impression, and probably mark the start of a new era, that of the Walt Disney Company fully in command.
It remains to be seen whether the efforts will pay off. With an investment plan such as the one we presented in our April fool’s joke. In the meantime, trust us; the 25th anniversary is worth a visit.
